Filing a takedown notice
If you believe content on SmashingPads infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (see contact below) that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, and enough information for us to locate it (e.g. the shared board link)
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
Misrepresenting that content is infringing can expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
What happens next
On receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified content. We may also remove a shared board entirely if it contains repeated or clear infringing material.
Repeat infringers
We will take appropriate action against users who repeatedly submit infringing content, which may include removing their content and refusing to host future shared boards from them.
